Busy, Busy, Busy
School has barely given me time to update. I expected senior year to be busy but not nearly as busy as it’s been. I’ve been working pretty steadily on my portfolio and pieces I need done for showcase and I’m slowly starting to get a hang of who I am as an artist. I still struggle with each project because I’m not getting consistent critiques from my professors. My advertising professor thinks I have a very clean and editorial style that he believes I should stick with but my Portfolio professor wants me to go over the top and doesn’t really like my simplistic style. I’ve been trying to step somewhat out of my comfort zone and for the most part, it’s working.
Here’s a piece I did for the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Ill. It’s ad specifically to attract children and parents who have children. Critiques are always nice. Tell me what you think.

This isn’t the final version of the piece.
Other than art, the past few months have been an adventure. I rescued and nurtured a kitten to good health. Her name is Bishop and she is the sweetest little thing. Here are some pictures.

She was so small she could fit in Josh’s shirt pocket while did some work around the house and her eyes were still closed. This is a recent picture of her.

Today was my last day of class so I’m officially on winter break. I’m hoping to I can get some things accomplished over the next three weeks. Here’s to hoping!

What a cute kitty! I like the graphic, but I would add some subtle texture to the background and text. Just a little something to make them pop.
