My summer so far
Sorry, I have been away. I know you get tired of hearing it but truth is, life gets busy sometimes and it just wont allow me to update as much as I want to. Don’t expect me to close down any time soon, though. My blog is my online home and one of my creative releases. Anywho, let me talk a little about my summer so far.
My mom decided that she wants to move to Philadelphia. It was a very quick decision for her. With the company she worked for going out of business, I guess it gave her the opportunity to move closer to me as I finish school. I’m delighted that I would get to see my family anytime I want and it will be a great chance for Josh and my family to get to know each. I’ve been engulfed in Josh’s family life (even though I don’t enjoy it most of the time) so I’m ready for my two worlds to collide . Well, minus the part where Josh’s mom is a racist and my mother (who is moving just four blocks away from his mother) being the very outspoken person she is. As of right now, my mom isn’t aware of all the terrible racist things Josh’s mom has been saying and I know my mom will be furious if she found out. Moving on…
My birthday was this past Saturday! I am officially twenty three which isn’t a milestone but it has made me terribly aware that I am one year older and I still don’t have a ring on my finger. I never thought I’d be one of those girls but I recently became obsessed with anything that has to do with weddings. I watch all the wedding shows on the TLC channel, I go to all the wedding sites. I don’t know what happened but I have the marriage itch. Surprisingly, It doesn’t bother Josh a bit. He actually think it’s cute. Getting back to my birthday.
Josh went out of his way to make it special. We spent my actual birth day shopping. He wouldn’t let me spend a single dime of my own money and he allowed me to get whatever I wanted. I didn’t buy much due to my fear of spending but he was so incredibly sweet. The very next day he threw me a surprise picnic. We enjoyed the afternoon in the park and we even had a tea party. It was all his idea! He bought alone a tea pot and all. We even had sugar cubes! (<---obviously my favorite part ) Aside from letting me buy whatever I wanted the day before, he got me two tickets to the adventure aquarium and he got me the Yudu screen printing machine. He’s literally the best boyfriend ever. My best friend also came to visit me. We don’t get to see each other much so that was nice. Hopefully sometime soon we’ll see each other again.

you don’t need to apologize for being away. I think that you have a life to tend to and that’s the number one important thing. Belated birthday btw and it sounds like you had a beautiful birthday.
Btw, it’s also nice that your mother is moving closer to you. It’s nice to know you’ll have all the support you need and much closer too.

Heyyyy happy birthday! I’m actually happier my mom doesn’t live nearby in any manner… and I get tired of Rob’s family too so I feel you on that part.

That’s nice to have your mum move closer to you. She’ll be in for a shock if she isn’t expected something like that at all.
23 is young! I’m 23 as well. I don’t plan to get marry till I’m 26/27 because I want to save a bit of money first. Weddings are so expensive.
That’s so sweet and thoughtful of your boyfriend. The picnic park sounded well cute. That’s something different from the usual birthday surprises.

Happy belated birthday! Everyone tells me similar things like that. “I never expected to get married and look at me now” or “I never wanted kids and now I have 4″. Hmm I don’t think I’ll become like that. Sounds like you had fun though! =)

Happy birthday! I’m glad you had so much fun. Honestly, I kind of hope your mom puts the smack down on Josh’s mom. It may make things awkward, but someone needs to let her know she can’t just go around making racist comments. You can feel however you want, but if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all.

Happy belated birthday!
I just stumbled upon your site and got captivated by this post. Mostly since it has something to do with boyfriends and parents and boy do I know those issues well.
If you don’t mind me asking, what are you ethnicities (you and your boyfriend)? It must be a little tough to deal with that.
For me, I sometimes come to that conclusion when my boyfriend doesn’t even want to introduce me to his father’s side. I was thinking maybe they didn’t want someone like me dating him.

Yikes!!! Your boyfriend’s mom is racist? How can you live with that? Is there a specific group she doesn’t like?
I’m 23 and I, too, have the marriage itch. We don’t have a ring on our fingers yet because we’re still young! I try not to talk about it with my boyfriend because he finds it more creepy haha.
